Last 48 hours! Stretch Goals Recap and The Four Seasons

These are the last 48 hours of this awesome journey! We feel blessed to have such an amazing and passionate community and we thank you sincerely for all your incredible support!  

This is what you have accomplished during this month.  

16 Stretch Goals, one to go!  

To all the people (and probably future backers *wink*wink*) tuning in now, we have organized all the unlocked Stretch Goals into categories for a better understanding.

There is one Stretch Goal to go, the Tiger and the Phoenix. All the information is available in our last update, but we wanted to explain something regarding that, the wooden version we are offering as a Stretch Goal is Kickstarter exclusive because it is for the deluxe version of the game (hence the KS exclusive badge), but it will come out alongside the 4 seasons as an expansion for the retail version of the game in the future, in cardboard.  

The four Seasons  

We know you are very curious about this expansion and here is the explanation on how it works:

“The Four Seasons expansion adds timing to the game, changing the most valuable strategies through the passing of turns.   

Summer is the season of action, and its scorching heat gives 1 fire stone to the dragon beginning its turn.  

Autumn is the season of change, and its strong winds drift the active dragon 1 space further.  

Winter is the season of reclusion, and its piercing cold weakens the dragon by 1 water and 1 fire when its turn comes.  

Spring is the season of growth, and its refreshing spirit restores the dragon the life that was once taken by granting him 1 water stone.  

The first season is randomly selected, and is placed on top of a pile made of all the 4 seasons, which is then placed besides the board, this seasons will then affect the players turns and after both players had their turn, the season changes.  

After the first season is played, it then goes to the side, revealing a new season while keeping the one you just placed beside the pile active as well, after this second turn is played by both players the pile goes on top of the season tile that was played first and keeping the last revealed season active, and then repeating this process until the game ends.

All revealed seasons affect both players turn.  

Every time there's a single season revealed, its effect is doubled, as it is in its peak! This expansion may also be played as a single season that influences the entire game (with its regular effect being applied, however) or by using the back of the tiles, the Season Rocks! Each has the same effect as the season it is based on, but applied only to the area it influences on the board. It is like playing with the seasons, but now the challenge depends on where you are on the board."

The four seasons in wood is a Kickstarter Exclusive and will only be available here (you can increase your pledge by 8€) and in our pledge manager! Carboard version will come out later this year in retail stores.  

Late Pledges!  

You have been asking if you will be able to upgrade and add any kind of extras after the campaign is over.  

If you are interested in changing your pledge tier, be sure to at least pledge for the 1€ tier “Curious Dragon” to have access to our pledge manager.  

If you don’t do it, you will still be able to get the Retail Version of Tao Long in Backerkit as a pre-order.  

You will be charged for your extra pledges around the end of March, but you may want to add them to your cart as soon as Backerkit comes online since Add-on quantities are limited!  

Remember that if you add any extras to your pledge right now, you are helping reaching the final Stretch Goal.

New Stretch Goal and our first Award!

With more than 4000 amazing backers, we are just a thousand dollars away to unlock the twelfth Stretch Goal, but sit tight because we have many other surprises under our sleeves!

Thirteenth Stretch Goal  

We want you to take the Bagua stones and be able to pick and drop them with ease. By increasing the size of the wooden Bagua stones to 20mm in diameter the feeling of taking a pile and distribute it will be way better. Now the real Tao Long Masters will be able to play at the speed of light!  

Mysterious Add-on reveal  

We know you are enjoying the more cathartic revealing of our Stretch Goal, so now it's time to do it with our Add-ons!  

Getting near the next stretch goal requested total (186k€) we will be revealing a new Add-on that you will be able to add to your pledge. Golden and Collector's Bundles will get it for free! To add more suspense to it, we are starting a new...

Guessing game 

Comment in the main comment section (not this update) with the hashtag #NewAddon and guess our next Add-on! The hint we can give is "four". The game will end as soon as the reveal will be clear which should be around 178.000€ The Winner will get the Add-on as a reward. Good luck everyone! 

Our First Award!

We are so excited to receive our first award for Tao Long, the well-known ROYAL CERTIFIED SEAL OF PERSONAL APPRECIATION! Thank you Fab! You cracked us up!

A new Stretch Goal and Man vs Meeple video preview!

Hello everyone!  

As many of you already know, this past weekend our comment section was invaded by crazy theories about our next Stretch Goal. 

With more than 8'000$ in pledges from Octo Studio we are pretty close to unlock our eleventh stretch goal which unlocks thickness for the wooden tiles. The dragon tiles and portals will be increased at 5mm and all the rocks (big and small) to 8mm to give an insurmountable feeling to those elements.

So it's time to talk about the next one! 

We asked to guess what was coming, and to the winner, we would award an Add-on of his/her choice. The time has come, and our next Stretch Goal will be... 

The Fluffy Pink bunny!

Its name is Fluffy. It is just tired of those damn dragons baffling around the world and wants to teach them a lesson. Also, it likes the idea of governing humanity for an entire era. Some say Renaissance and the 70s were governed by it. But that's just speculation.

Jokes aside, we felt that four of you won this contest, so here they are! 

All of you will be able to choose an Add-on as your reward!

THE VILLAGE - The real Twelfth Stretch Goal! 

The end of the era has arrived, and the former prevailing dragon must defend its position among humans. During all that time humans grew fond of the mighty creature, and will defend its reign. 

Whenever The Village is in play, one dragon may attack it, but takes damage if it gets too close, whilst the other may approach it, but takes damage whenever The Village is attacked.

Overseers 

Many of you requested about having Overseers as an add-on on this campaign. You will be able to get the game after the campaign over at Backerkit. You will only be able to get it if you are a backer of Tao Long! So if you're still waiting, maybe this is a good change to pledge!

Foil Boxes Unlocked! On to the next Stretch Goal!

You did it!

With almost 7'000$ in Brasilian pledges over at Octo Studio, we have just unlocked the foil finish for the Deluxe and Golden boxes. This is the final improvement we could ask for the box! We know you want more and we still got lots of cool stuff to add to the game!  

Tenth Stretch Goal  

We want the retail edition to be sturdy and durable. With this stretch goal we will improve the stock from grey to black core and the thickness to 3mm. On top of that, this allows us to accomplish even better printing Matt PP Lamination instead of Aqueous varnish.  

Stretch Goals Reveal  

Some of you noticed already, but we are adding a little more suspense to the unlock of the Stretch Goals. We want you to enjoy the ride with us and from now on the more we get close to the Stretch Goal the more you will be able to see! You may want to come back from to time to time to see a bit more of what's to come and talk about it in the comment section.

8 Stretch Goals in 48h! New Golden Bundle and more to Unlock!

You're the best!  

This has literally surpassed every expectation we had. We are so happy and grateful with all of you! With the Brasilian pledges over at Octo.studio we are sitting at 103'000 in total! You've have unlocked 8 Stretch Goals in less than 48 hours!

Cracked Rocks!  

We promise a Cracked Mountain but we want to commemorate this 100k milestone by adding something even cooler: You have just unlocked the cracked rocks! We are printing a cracked effect on each back of each of your rocks. This adds two new and exciting scenarios to the mix, you will love it!   

New Add-on!  

Many of you from the Deluxe pledge tier have requested the board from the retail to be added as an add-on. For 7€ you will be able to add it inside your Deluxe box. This price includes the extra shipping due to the weight of the board. And don't worry, the box is big enough to fit it perfectly!  

Golden Bundle  

Some of you have requested to increase the Collector's Bundle slots and while that is not possible for being a numbered edition and having a handmade print, we want you to be able to get something really special! (The Collector's Bundle also includes everything in the following new tier)   

The Golden Bundle features everything in the Deluxe Edition but with a Special Tao Long Black Box with the dragons being made just by using a Spot UV effect over the black background.  

On top of that you will get  

- x2 limited Golden Foiled Portals 
- x1 limited Metal Golden Token 
- x1 4 Player Expansion (deluxe)
- x1 Cotton Bag
- x1 Board from the Retail Edition 
- x1 Special print of Tao Long (28x14)
- All the add-ons we will unlock during the campaign (excluding extra games) 

The only way to get ahold of this edition is by pledging during the campaign. It is the perfect bundle for your enthusiast inner Dragon. This is limited and never to be printed again.

If you prefer the Red box, you will be able to change it without problem during the campaign manager. 

Ninth Stretch Goal 

We know you love Shiny boxes, that's why with this Stretch Goal we are giving a foil finish for the Deluxe and Golden/Collector boxes.
